Choose your character
Legislative Processes involve a myriad of people, and in order to carry out our simulation as realistically as possible, we will need all of them! Which one fits you the best?
Delegate
As a delegate, you will be assigned the role of either an MEP representing a European Political Party or a member of the Council of the European Union representing an EU Member State. As a member of the legislative body of the European Union, your job will be to amend and reshape both EU Acts following the ideology and political will of either the Political Party or the Member State you have been assigned. To achieve this, you will have to be able to convince other delegates, engage in enriching debates, and immerse yourself in a true political game.

Journalist
As a journalist, your role will consist of informing the other participants about the controversial decisions, debates and gossip related to the delegates and lobbyists while pushing for the specific agenda of the newspaper you have been assigned to. You will also be conducting interviews with the delegates and will have the opportunity to write a self-made newspaper with their own teammates.
Lobbyist
With the role of a lobbyist, you will advocate for specific interests while navigating the policy making process in order to achieve favourable outcomes for the organizations you represent. During meetings and consultations between you and policymakers, you will have the opportunity to give engage in direct communication with them and give speeches defending your interests with the aim of influencing the way in which legislation is amended and they will try to maximize the outcome of the organizations they represent.

Chair
The chairs are the moderators of the debate regarding the legislative proposals coming from the Commission of the European Union. Within a Model of the EU the chairs’ positions change depending on whether they are part of the Council of the European Union -the president of the Council-, or the European Parliament -the president of the European Parliament or the president of each committee related with the topic being discussed-. Overall, their role is to provide a proper environment throughout the development of the debate.
Committees at the EU Parliament
